Claude

Anthropic's AI assistant excels at nuanced analysis, long-form writing, and complex reasoning β€” and becomes truly transformative in agentic setups like Claude Code and Claude Co-work.

Best for: Complex analysis, long-form writing, coding, and agentic workflows where AI works autonomously on real tasks

Fabian's take β€” "My favorite AI for most tasks. I use the standard Claude for conversations, but where it truly shines is in agentic setups β€” Claude Code for autonomous coding and Claude Co-work for complex workflows. This website is built and maintained entirely through Claude Code. Five stars, no contest."

Perplexity

AI-powered search engine that gives you sourced answers instead of a list of links. Indispensable for research, learning, and automated daily tasks like media monitoring.

Best for: Research, fact-checking, deep analysis of markets and competitors, and automated daily research tasks

Fabian's take β€” "Perplexity is indispensable. I use it for quick research on various topics, to learn something new, and to run deep research for better understanding of markets, potential customers, and competitors. I also have daily automated tasks running β€” like media monitoring. Five stars."

Gemini

An excellent AI model when prompted right. Incredibly good as an intellectual sparring partner, image interpreter, image/video generator, and for planning complex projects with custom Gems.

Best for: Intellectual sparring, image interpretation, image/video generation, and planning complex projects with custom Gems

Fabian's take β€” "Gemini has surprised me. When prompted right, it's an incredibly good intellectual sparring partner and excels at interpreting images, creating image generation prompts, and generating images and videos directly. The custom Gems are fantastic β€” I used them to plan, specify, and design an entire professional app. Over 200 tickets were written with Gemini's help."

Poe.com

The ultimate AI model aggregator β€” access GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, image generators, video generators, audio models, and more behind a single interface and API key.

Best for: Power users who want access to all major AI models β€” text, image, video, and audio β€” in one place for the price of a single subscription

Fabian's take β€” "This aggregator has literally all the models. All the LLMs, all the thinking models, including the open source ones, the research models, all the image generators, video generators, audio models, and much more. All-in-one UI in one app and even accessible via API. For the price of a single subscription such as ChatGPT Pro. Minus points for bad user experience and UI that hasn't been improved at all in two years."

ChatGPT

OpenAI's flagship AI assistant with the broadest feature set β€” including image generation, web browsing, code execution, and a massive plugin ecosystem.

Best for: All-around AI assistant with multimodal capabilities, web browsing, and the largest ecosystem

Fabian's take β€” "I cancelled my ChatGPT subscription because I found other models more compelling for my daily work. That said, I still use it from time to time β€” it remains a solid all-rounder with the broadest feature set. It's just no longer my first choice for any specific task."

Copilot

Microsoft's AI assistant integrated into their ecosystem, formerly known as Bing Chat.

Best for: Enterprise environments already locked into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Fabian's take β€” "Microsoft botched this and it's no wonder very few people use it. The problem: it's not productized well. It's not as configurable and personalizable and doesn't learn as cleverly as ChatGPT and the likes. It doesn't interact cleverly with other software, amazingly not even with Microsoft products. Claude is better at Excel and Powerpoint than Microsoft's own assistant. High time for Microsoft to catch up!"

Atlassian Rovo

AI assistant built into Jira and Confluence. Helps teams search across tools, generate documentation, and create epics and tickets from requirements.

Best for: Teams using Atlassian tools who want AI help with documentation, ticket creation, and cross-tool search

Fabian's take β€” "Rovo is the AI assistant for the Atlassian suite. We use Confluence for product specifications, and Rovo helps turn those requirements docs into epics and tickets in Jira. It doesn't feel really smart yet, but within a small, well-defined context, it's quite helpful. A solid 3 stars β€” useful but not impressive."
